Dear Comrades,
I hope everyone is in good health and that you all made it through your New Year's celebrations.
We have been able to make a major change since our last newsletter. We are now open to the public. Our hours are the same and we have activities almost every evening. We have Random Cricket darts on Tuesday, Shuffleboard on Wednesday, Dart Tournament (blind draw) on Thursday as well as Line Dancing Instructions, DJ/Karaoke on Friday and our usual Dance Night with live band on Saturday. Let all your friends know that they no longer have to be members or guests of a VFW member to enjoy all we have to offer.
We would like every member to attend the February General Membership meeting on Saturday, February 11. This is the way you have a say in YOUR post. We will be electing a Junior Vice Commander, three year and two year House Committee Members. These are to fill vacancies recently created due to unforeseen events.
Also, at the February meeting, we will be voting for approval of an auction to get rid of a number of unneeded and unused items. If we are not using them, we need to get rid of them. Come and let your voice be heard.
Yours in Comradeship,
Tim Wallace

CHAPLAIN'S CORNER
FEBRUARY 1, 2012
Greetings Comrades and Sisters,
This year is going by fast. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We have lost two more of our members since my last letter. We lost Past Commander and Life Member Tommy Huffaker and Life Member Jerry Chumbler. They will both be missed by the post and all our Comrades.
These losses remind us all of our own mortality and that none of us knows when God will call us to his Throne. Are we ready? Let's all look at our lives and how we treat others. Forgive those who have done wrong to us and ask forgiveness from those whom we have wronged. We all have sinned against God and our fellow man and if we do not forgive as well as ask forgiveness, we can never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Last fall, as Tracy and I were driving to Decatur for the Fall Conference, we noticed a sign at a church that said “Beware, the devil wears camouflage.” What a fitting reminder that temptation comes in all colors, shapes and sizes, and if we are not careful, we will not recognize that it is the devil tempting us.
Let's all be careful and watch out for camouflaged temptations.
Thank all of you and I pray for your safety and enjoyment of life.
Yours in Christ,
Dave Nichols
